How we count
Countdown sites disagree with each other more often than you would expect. Here is exactly what our numbers mean.
Today is not counted
A date tomorrow shows one day. We give the inclusive figure underneath as well, because plenty of people count the other way and both answers are defensible.
Bank holidays are removed
Working-day counts exclude weekends and England & Wales bank holidays. Most countdown sites treat bank holidays as working days, which makes their figures wrong for anyone planning around a UK deadline.
UK time, all year
Everything is calculated in Europe/London, so the clocks going forward in March and back in October never shift a count by a day.
